Driver nabbed for
electrical wire theft

A trisikad driver was apprehended while in the act of stealing streetlight electrical wires in front of the Ceres Bus South Terminal at Lopez Jaena Street in Bacolod City at about 1:15 a.m. Monday.

Reynaldo Urbano Fernandez, 28, of Purok Katilingban II, Brgy. 35 was arrested by Police Precinct 6 operatives led by Senior Insp. Jonathan Lorilla, Precinct 6 commander and his personnel. His alleged companion, identified as a certain "Tiloy", managed to escape, however, police reports said.

Recovered from Fernandez were 23 meters of electrical wire and a trisikad believed to be used in pulling and transporting the stolen items, police reports also said.

Fernandez, who denied the accusation, was reportedly mobbed by bystanders in the area, causing him head injuries, police reports also said.

Fernandez said "Tiloy" had hired his trisikad to get the items. He claimed he had no idea that the wires "Tiloy" placed on his trisikad were stolen.*DMG
