13-year-old injured in
shooting at purok

A 13-year-old boy fell and was injured when he ran away from his two neighbors who reportedly shot each other in Purok Kagaykay in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City at about 5:30 p.m. yesterday.

The boy, whose name is being withheld by the DAILY STAR, was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital with an injury in his forehead.

Insp. Levy Pangue, Police Precinct 2 commander, said the boy was standing in the area when James Arquillo, alias "Ting-ting", and Richard Jimenez Sr., both residents of Brgy. 2 were engaged in an altercation, and later shot each other. Neither was injured, except the boy who fell on the ground, he added.

Witnesses told Pangue that Arquillo and Jimenez who had a previous misunderstanding were armed with a .45 caliber firearm and a .22 caliber pistol, respectively. Responding policemen led by case investigator PO1 Eduard Alejano recovered five empty shells of .45 caliber pistol and four deformed slugs of the same firearm, he added.

Pangue said they are trying to arrest Arquillo and Jimenez, who were still at-large up to press time yesterday.*DMG
