pace NOVA tourney

Pulupandan smashed two rivals over the weekend to register its third straight win in the 16-Under boys' category of the 16th Negros Occidental Volleyball Association-NOCSF Age-Group Volleyball Championship at the University of St. La Salle Covered Courts in Bacolod City.

The Pulupandan spikers beat St. Joseph's School-La Salle, 25-21, 25-22, Saturday, before hammering Silay City, 25-11, 25-22, Sunday to pace the 16-Under boys' division with a 3-0 slate.

La Consolacion College-Main scored victories against Mansilingan Christian Academy, 25-23, 25-18, and St. Benilde School, 25-23, 25-18, while University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Talisay, Colegio de San Agustin Bacolod, USLS, EB Magalona, SBS and Silay City also won their games.

Leading the 16-Under girls' division is Negros Occidental High School after outlasting BNHS, 25-20, 23-25, 25-12, Saturday and rallying past St. Theresita's Academy, 19-25, 25-18, 25-17, Sunday.

Also registering one victory each over the weekend were the volleybelles from CSA-B, Silay City, LCC-Main, Bacolod Christian Education Center School, BNHS, La Carlota City and BNHS.

Silay City and LCC-Main are at the top of the 14-Under boys' division as they nailed two triumphs each.

The Silay City spikers defeated NOHS, 26-24, 25-11, and La Salle, 25-16, 25-21, while LCC-Main emerged triumphant against La Carlota City, 25-16, 25-12, and NOHS, 25-19, 25-20.

In the 14-Under girls' play, SJS-La Salle, St. John's Institute and Silay City is in a three-way tie for the top spot by having 2-0 win-loss records each, while MCA has a 1-0 slate. USLS is at 1-1.

The 12-Under boys' team of Pulupandan scored its second victory after pounding USLS, 25-7, 25-10, as well as St. Benilde School, which posted a resounding 25-8, 25-13 triumph over La Carlota City.

St. Rose of Lima School came-from-behind against La Salle, 24-26, 25-17, 25-19, while EELMS crushed SBS, 25-9, 25-22. *CIT
