BAGO SHOOTING
3 killed, 2 wounded

Three persons died, and two others, including a minor, were injured, in two shooting incidents in Bago City, Negros Occidental Sunday.

Police chief Alex Belonio said one of the suspects in the shooting was an ex-rebel who tops the list of 10 most-wanted persons in Bago City, and has pending arrest warrants for robbery with homicide, murder and robbery.

The three killed were identified by the Bago police as tricycle driver Jover Abong, Armando Udtuhan and Albert de Peña. Hit by stray bullets were Louella Mariz Udtuhan, 11, and Eddie Limson.

Belonio said Abong was killed allegedly by ex-rebel Rodillo Oliveros, alias Ka Jim, in Purok Riverside, Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City. It was reportedly triggered by land conflict.

Police investigations show that the group of Oliveros has been tagged for the killing of a kagawad of Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City, last year.

Belonio said Oliveros shot Abong as he was dis-embarking from his tricycle causing also the injury of Limson who was hit by a stray bullet in the left leg.

Meanwhile, businessman Archie Hilado escaped after he allegedly shot Udtuhan in front of the Ma-ao barangay plaza Sunday night.

The shooting also caused the death of De la Peña who was hit by a stray bullet in his nape and injury to Louella Mariz, niece of Armando, Belonio said.

Bago policemen who responded to the shooting of Udtuhan and De la Peña, recovered seven empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol from the scene.

Belonio said Hilado, who fled after the shooting has reportedly expressed his desire to surrender to the Bago City Police Station.*GPB
