TMU intensifies drive
against trike operation

Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Pedro Merced, yesterday said he has directed the Bacolod Traffic Management Unit to intensify its campaign against the operation of trisikad units in different areas in the city.

About 72 trisikads were intercepted and impounded by the Bacolod Traffic Management Unit in different areas of the city from Saturday up to yesterday, for violation of City Ordinance 47, Insp. Juanito Balinas, TMU chief, said yesterday.

Merced said majority of the intercepted trisikads were not registered at the TMU office and were driven by minors. He said trisikads are not allowed to operate in areas where passenger jeepneys pass, as stated in City Ordinance 47.

Meanwhile, the group Bible study program of the Bacolod police was launched at the Bacolod police office yesterday, to effect changes in the lives of police personnel, Merced said. The 15 to 45 minutes of Bible study will be conducted by 10 pastors from different denominations assigned at all police stations, Merced said, adding that a separate Bible study will be conducted at the Bacolod headquarters every Saturday morning.*DMG
