Bacolod to take part
in e-Services exhibit

Bacolod City will join other major cities and provinces in showcasing its products and services in the 6th e-Services Philippines Outsourcing Conference and Exhibition in EDSA Shangri-La Manila Feb. 16 to 17, Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, chairman of the Bacolod Information Technology Focus Team, said yesterday.

The event will also be participated in by the local governments of Bataan, Bohol, Bulacan, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Leyte, Zamboanga, Pangasinan and Naga, she said.

These local government units will join the presentation of regional IT hubs, that will focus on real estate availability, telecommunications, infrastructure and human resource, during the forum on Feb. 17, she also said.

The e-Services Philippines, the country's first and only annual outsourcing conference and exhibition, is being organized by the Department of Trade and Industry through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, she added.

She also said the event promotes in both local and global markets the country's world-class capabilities in IT and IT-related services, particularly in the areas of animation, wireless application, business process outsourcing, contact centers, data transcription, software development, and engineering and design services, based on a CITEM letter addressed to all DTI regional offices.

There will also be a two-day conference with presentations, discussions and first-hand learning from industry experts, Batapa-Sigue said.*
