Chan helps Magnolia
reach PBA finals

Former University of St. La Salle cager Jeff Chan came through in the clutch as he led Magnolia Ice Cream to a 92-86 double overtime victory over Granny Goose that set the Wizards up to a title showdown against Rain or Shine in the PBL Heroes Cup in Manila.

The 6-foot-2 Chan, who is playing college ball at Far Eastern University, delivered 20 points, five of which came in the second overtime period, as Magnolia swept the five-game semifinal series.

"We're blessed to have him in the team," Wizards coach Koy Banal said of the Bacolod cager, who played for USLS and represented Western Visayas in the 2000 Palarong Pambansa.

Also a member of the WV quintet and now playing for Magnolia is 6-foot-6 center Francis Barcellano. The Wizards and Rain or Shine start their title series on Thursday. *CPT
