Baby boy survives
drinking kerosene

An 8-month-old baby boy was poisoned after his sister allegedly mistakenly made him drink a bottle of kerosene, which she thought was drinking water, at Block 5, Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Diether Cadiente was unconscious when he was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, his mother Estrella, 33 told the DAILY STAR yesterday.

She said she was cooking dinner and asked her 10-year-old daughter to take care of her younger brother. The daughter gave Diether candy and what she thought was drinking water.

Estrella said she heard her son crying and when she went to see what was happening she saw that he was vomiting and she smelled kerosene from his mouth.

Diether was out of danger and back to normal yesterday.*DMG
