Murcia man hacked by kin

A 56-year-old-man was in a critical condition after sustaining multiple hack wounds allegedly inflicted by his younger brother and two nephews after an altercation at Hacienda Esperanza, Brgy. Talotog, Murcia town in Negros Occidental at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City was Nestor Batolinao Ortega with multiple hack wounds inflicted by his younger brother, Romulo, and his sons, aged 13 and 16, Murcia PNP case investigator SPO1 Jovito Tejada told the DAILY STAR yesterday.

Tejada said Nestor was under the influence of intoxicating liquor when he arrived in their residence. He said Nestor reportedly hit the house of his younger brother with a stone, which offended him. Romulo and his sons came out of their house with bladed weapons and attacked Nestor, he said.

Romulo and his sons are still at-large while Nestor was confined at the CLMMRH, Tejada said.*DMG
