A teenager accused of allegedly molesting a minor in Silay City and a father charged for raping his own daughter, were separately arrested by the police in Silay and Bago cities Monday and Tuesday.

Armed with an arrest warrant issued by Judge Reynaldo Alon, policemen led by Senior Inspector Samuel Mina apprehended a 14-year-old, whose identity is being withheld by the DAILY STAR, in Sitio Pasil, Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, on Tuesday.

Police Officer 2 Nanette Laurilla, chief of the Silay PNP Women and Children Concerns Desk, yesterday said the teenager was accused for molesting a 7-year-old last year.

Police investigations also showed that the teenager had also been charged in the past for molesting his cousin who is a minor. However, the case against him was dropped after an amicable settlement was reached by both parties.

Silay Regional Trial Court Judge Reynaldo Alon who issued an arrest warrant, denied the 14-year-old bail.

Meanwhile, a 39-year-old father who is facing four counts of rape, was also nabbed by the police in Brgy. Dulao, Bago City, on the strength of arrest warrant issued by Judge Henry Trocino.

SPO4 Isabelita Dioso, chief of the Bago police WCCD, said arrested was Bernabe Vinson who is facing charges of allegedly molesting his own 5-year-old daughter in Bago City.

Dioso said the court has recommended P120,000 in bail for Vinson who is still detained at the Bago City Jail.

A certain Joel de los Santos who is facing murder charges in court, was also arrested by the police in Brgy. Lag-asan, Bago City, early this week.*GPB
