Sibulanons have taken pride in the victory of three-time Philippine champion boxer Jimrex Jaca, who hails from Boloc-boloc, Sibulan, Oriental Negros.

Jaca, whose real name is Jimuel Divino, 22, sent his Mexican foe John Nolasco to the canvass in the first round of their undercard bout during the Pacquio-Morales fight dubbed as "The Battle" at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas last Sunday (Saturday in the United States). The local government of Sibulan has prepared a hero's welcome for Jaca during the 96th anniversary of the town at the end of this month, as soon as he comes back in the Philippines.

Mayor Antonio Renacia said Jaca will be recognized and will receive a plaque of recognition, for giving honor to Sibulan, thus placing the LGU in the limelight.

Renacia hopes the achievement will be converted into investments for the town.*JG
