SILLIMAN LAND ROW
Generoso clan files raps
versus 8 security guards

Claimants of the property at Silliman Farm, owned by Silliman University, filed at least two criminal complaints Monday against eight security guards of the Century Security Agency, before the City

Prosecutor's Office in Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros.

The criminal complaints stemmed from what they called the violent dispersal on Dec. 23, 2005 where several members of the Alejandrino Generoso Family Association Inc. were injured.

Respondents to the case are Rogelio Amahit, Dindo Dagohoy, Conrado Tambacan, Alfredo Janayan, Danilo Luyas, Pedro Caraballe, Vincent Faburada and Ricky Balanay, all employed by Century Security Agency.

They were accused of firing their service firearms that allegedly caused injuries to Danny Acosta, Christian Malindo, Renato Abrea, Luisa Animo, Zaldy Lubay, Melchor Generoso, Edmar Ponce and Arthur Malinao. Some of the victims have been confined in the hospital for several days.

Members of the clan positioned themselves at the gate of Silliman Farm, and said, they were willing to hold a dialog with the Silliman University administration, but university president Agustin Pulido preferred to settle the dispute before the courts.*
