'Boro-Boro owners
open to settlement

The owners of the Boro-Boro Springs in Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod City are amenable to discuss a possible settlement with the Bacolod City Water District, their lawyer Romeo Natino said yesterday.

Baciwa had filed an injunction case on Jan. 10 against Edmundo Sausi and children so its personnel could enter the property to inspect their facilities after receiving reports on Jan. 8 that Spring No. 2 was sabotaged and its water diverted.

Baciwa personnel were only able to enter the area on Jan. 13 after the Regional Trial Court issued the temporary restraining order sought by Baciwa against the owners. The TRO is effective for 20 days.

Natino said he together with Juan Rubrico, will meet with Jovim Entila, the legal counsel of Baciwa today to discuss a possible settlement. Joining them is Ivan Solidum Jr., counsel of the other heirs of the springs.

RTC Judge Anastacio Rufon asked the lawyers of both parties Thursday to discuss a possible settlement before the court issues an order on the injunction case filed by Baciwa within 20 days.

Natino said they want their client to be compensated since Baciwa had used its property since 1973 or for almost 32 years. He said they may discuss how much their clients would require Baciwa to pay.*CGS
