hostilities resume today

The aspirants and elementary boys' basketball teams of the University of St. La Salle open their title-retention bids today when they take on separate rivals at the resumption of the 2005-2006 season of the NOPSSCEA sports meet in Bacolod City.

The USLS aspirants squad collides with Living Heritage Christian Academy at 8 a.m. at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Gym, while its elementary team will face Mansilingan Christian Academy at 8 a.m. at the West Negros College Covered Court.

The La Sallians also hope to open their bid for back-to-back aspirants boys' volleyball titles against Jack and Jill School-Castleson at 10:30 p.m. at the USLS College Covered Court, while defending aspirants girls' volleyball champion St. Scholastica's Academy will start its campaign against St. Joseph's School-La Salle at 3:30 p.m.

The aspirants basketball team of St. John's Institute will play St. Benilde School at 9:15 a.m., while Bacolod Christian Education Center School will battle St. Augustine International School at 10:30 a.m. University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Bacolod will tussle with MCA at 1 p.m., while SJS-La Salle will take on St. Rose of Lima School at 2:15 p.m. Bacolod Tay Tung High School will play WNC at 3:30 p.m.

The games in the aspirants division tomorrow will see Colegio de San Agustin-Bacolod facing SAIS at 8 a.m.; USLS playing SBS (9:15 a.m.); St. John's colliding with LHCA (10:30 a.m.); SJS-La Salle battling MCA (1 p.m.); UNO-R Talisay clashing with West Negros (2:15 p.m.), and UNO-R Bacolod taking on SRLS (3:30 p.m.).

In elementary boys' basketball, UNO-R Bacolod will clash with St. Rose at 9:15 a.m., while Trinity Christian School will take on BCECS at 10:30 a.m.

Tay Tung will tussle with JJS-PHHC at 1 p.m. as St. Theresita's Academy will tackle SJI at 2:15 p.m. St. Benilde plays in the last game against CSA-b at 3:30 p.m.

Other games in elementary basketball set tomorrow are UNO-R Bacolod against TCS at 8 a.m.; Mansilingan versus BCECS (9:15 a.m.); La Salle taking on SRLS (10:30 a.m.); STA playing CSA-B (1 p.m.); BTTHS battling St. John's (2:15 p.m.), and SBS against JJS-PHHC (3:30 p.m.).

La Consolacion College-Main will collide with UNO-R Talisay in the aspirants boys' volleyball at 8:30 a.m. today, while St. Joseph's will try to score a win over MCA at 9:30 a.m.

SJS-La Salle will battle LCC-Main at 2:30 p.m. as JJS-Castleson will clashe with UNO-R Talisay at 3:30 p.m. USLS will play MCA at 4:30 p.m.

The matches in the aspirants boys' volleyball tomorrow will feature JJS-Castleson facing St. Joseph's at 9:30 a.m.; Mansilingan tussling with LCC-Main at 10:30 a.m., and the USLS spikers taking on UNO-R Talisay at 11:30 a.m.

In aspirants girls' volleyball, the St. Rose volleybelles will play against STA at 8:30 a.m. today, while St. Benilde will collide with UNO-R Talisay at 9:30 a.m. LCC-Main will battle Trinity at 10:30 a.m. as SJS-La Salle will tackle SJI at 11:30 a.m.

The STA volleybelles will tussle with SBS at 1:30 p.m. as La Salle will face St. Rose at 2:30 p.m. St. John's will take on TCS at 4:30 p.m.*CIT
