facing probe
for P1M fund 'misuse'
Provincial Treasurer Danilo Mendez yesterday said he will be sending personnel from his office to a town in Oriental Negros to investigate its treasurer who reportedly failed to account for almost P1 million in government funds.
Mendez, however, refused to divulge the name of the town and the treasurer pending the result of their investigation, especially that he does not have a copy of a report from the Commission on Audit.
But Mendez said the town is in the northern part of the
province.

Ballet Manila to perform at SU The Silliman University Cultural Affairs Committee will present the Ballet Manila featuring internationally renowned ballerina Lisa Macuja in the production called "Carmen and Other Ballets" on January 27 and 28 at the Luce Auditorium, Silliman, in Dumaguete City. Carmen is a ballet of five scenes about the love triangle of Carmen,
Don Jose, and Escamillo. Part of the repertoire are - Amis, Dalagang
Pilipina, Arachnida, and Sayaw de Pamlang. Founded in 1995, Ballet
Manila has been performing in the country and abroad. |
