The five children of an Iloilo businessman and a Negrense who
were recently murdered at their two-storey family mansion in Molo
district, Iloilo, are now in the custody of their grandmother on
the mother's side in Negros Occidental.
Raffy Tan, 17, and his three younger sisters, Karen, 15; Kristine,
13 and Kathleen, 1, and another sibling who were fetched from Iloilo
by their grandmother, Rosalinda Zayco, and uncle, Michael Zayco,
arrived yesterday at the BREDCO Port in Bacolod City, amid tight
security provided by the Kabankalan City Police Station and Bacolod
City Police Office.
Negrense Cynthia Zayco, niece of Negros Occidental Vice-Governor
Isidro Zayco, her husband, Francisco Tan, and daughter, Kathy, were
stabbed dead allegedly by the two sons of Francisco from his first
wife. The Zaycos refused to issue any statements on their arrival
at the BREDCO Port in Bacolod City
Instead of proceeding to Kabankalan City, the Tan children
were brought by their relatives to Santa Clara Subdivision in Bacolod
City, according to ABS-CBN.
The police tagged Archie Tan, 23, and his brother John
Michael, 18, sons of Francisco from a previous relationship, as
suspects in the killings.
Two counts of murder and parricide charges were filed by the
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group against Archie and his
younger brother.
The Tan family owns the Crown Agro Chemical, a chain of stores
selling pesticides, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs.*GPB
