14 squads vie for cage crown

Fourteen teams will be eyeing the elementary basketball crown of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association sports meet that starts at the West Negros College Covered Court in Bacolod City tomorrow.

University of St. La Salle aims to defend its championship against Bacolod Tay Tung High School, St. Francis of Assisi School, St. Benilde School, St. Theresita's Academy, Jack and Jill School-PHHC, St. John's Institute and Colegio de San Agustin-Bacolod.

Cagers from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Trinity Christian School, Mansilingan Christian Academy, JJS-Castleson, St. Rose of Lima School and Bacolod Christian Education Center School will also try to take away the title from the La Sallians.

The aspirants boys' basketball and the aspirants boys and girls' volleyball will also kick off tomorrow at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Gym and the USLS College Covered Court, respectively.

The aspirants boys' football will begin next month, while some of the 10-Under hostilities will fire off on Jan. 28.

Disciplines lined up in the 10-Under division are athletics, chess, basketball, football and volleyball. *CIT
