Thief withdraws P19T
using stolen ATM cards

A member of the administration faculty of the Asian College of Science and Technology in Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros, lost her cellphone and savings to a thief who stole her bag past noon Tuesday.

The victim, Jezminne Sarabia, 25, single of Brgy. Boloc-boloc, Sibulan town, said before she left the administrative office with a friend, she placed her bag on her table, but she made sure that the doors were locked.

Sarabia said she and Kathleen Kinkito were out for at least an hour, but when they returned, she found the door already unlocked.

She then found her bag missing.

The bag contained her Nokia 6510 cellphone worth P7,000, and her wallet containing P4,320 in cash, a cell card with P300 load, official IDs, driver's license, and ATM cards.

At past 2 p.m. on the same day, she informed her banks about her missing ATM cards. But a check on her account found that someone had withdrawn her savings of P13,000 with RCBC, P3,000 with Allied Bank, and P3,000 with Metro Banks through ATM.

The victim said her ATM cards' PIN numbers had been saved in her cellphone that was among the items inside her stolen bag.*RG
