P300T lost in robbery

Investigators are still clueless on the suspects of the hold-up Friday in front of a cellshop in the Capitol area in Dumaguete City involving the P300,000 payroll of ACM Commodities, formerly Miranda Copra in Sibulan, Oriental Negros.

Held up was Silverio Sy, 48, married of Divinagracia Street, Sibulan, an employee of ACM Commodities, police said.

Two hours later, Sy reported the incident to the police, saying he had just withdrawn the money from a bank in the city for the salary of the company's employees and other expenses.

On the way to Sibulan on board ACM's Tamaraw FX service car, Sy said he stopped by Crib's cellshop across the national highway fronting Freedom Park to buy a cellphone casing.

After paying, he left the store but on the way out, two men stopped him, one of whom struck his forehead with a pistol and announced a hold-up.

The other man then grabbed the bag of money he was carrying, but he tried to fight them off.

After overpowering Sy, the two men rushed to a parked blue XRM motorcycle and escaped in the north direction, police said.*
