GTZ grant for upgrading
of permits issuance ok'd

The German Technical Cooperation approved the grant for the Bacolod City government's project proposal amounting to P285,000 for the improvement of the processing of business permits.

The approval of the grant, which includes hardware, software and wireless antenna with training component for the city's frontliners, came after months of study, survey, workshop and evaluation made by the group that included the Ateneo Survey Team.

Permits and Licenses Division head Ardis Jaculina said the team headed by Ben Arvin de la Cruz conducted a final evaluation yesterday at the One-Stop-Shop at the Bays Center in Bacolod and noted a reduction in the city's processing procedure from 27 steps to 15.

Jaculina said that the recommendations of the team to the city has helped improve the system of the city in the processing of business permits.

Bacolod and Ormoc are the only local government units granted the project by GTZ in partnership with Small and Medium Enterprise Development for Sustainable Employment Program, and the Department of Trade and Industry.*CGS
