IN BACOLOD
Another holdup staged

A student of La Consolacion College was held up by a still unidentified person who took her cash in front of the Hall of Justice at Cottage Road, Bacolod City, at about 8:45 a.m. yesterday.

The 17-year-old student from Binicuil, Kabankalan City, who is temporarily staying at her uncle's house at San Juan Street, Bacolod City, reported to Police Precinct 2 that she was blocked by a man who poked a bladed weapon at her and declared a hold-up, police reports said. The culprit took the student's P6,400 in cash intended for her tuition fee, police reports said.

Super Radyo-Bacolod reported the student was about to process an affidavit of loss for her missing identification card at the Hall of Justice when she was held up.

Meanwhile, Chona Oberio Pez of Brgy. Dumpsite, Cansilayan, Murcia town, reported to Police Precinct 1 that two persons, one of them a woman, stole her P6,000 in cash, cosmetics and other items while she was at the Gaisano Mall grocery in Bacolod City, at about 3:30 p.m. yesterday. Pez said the two posed as customers and befriended her. Later, she discovered her money and several items missing and the two were nowhere to be found, police reports said.

Through the Police Precinct 1 Rogue's Gallery, Pez was able to identify Ronie Andaya Hilado of Verano Street, Silay City, as one of the culprits, police reports said.

Meanwhile, Senior Supt. Pedro Merced, Bacolod City police director, yesterday said he doubted a hold-up incident transpired near the Keppel Bank at the corner of Rizal and San Juan streets in the city at about 10 a.m. Monday. Merced said he personally visited in the area where the alleged incident took place and concluded that it is impossible that a hold-up incident would happen there because there were bystanders and trisikad drivers in the area who could easily notice the incident.

Merced said he believes the series of hold-up incidents seem to be designed to destabilize his administration.*DMG
