Bacoleņo facing charges
for estafa apprehended

A Bacoleņo facing estafa charges was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation and Provincial Anti-Illegal Task Force operatives at Ramylu, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City, at about 7 p.m. Monday.

Christopher Vinson of Brgy. Tangub was apprehended by the NBI and PAITF operatives on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Gorgonio Ybanez of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 48, for estafa charges, Senior Insp. Gary Allan Resuma, a PAITAF operative, told the DAILY STAR yesterday.

Vinson's bail was set at P16,000, Resuma said.

On Tuesday last week, Marie Griel Lagtapon, 34, and James Yasser Villares Geguira, 23, both of Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental reported to Police Precinct 1 that Vinson whom they met in Bacolod City, recruited them to work abroad on Dec. 24 last year, police reports said.

Lagtapon and Geguira told the police they paid P5,000 each to Vinson to process their applications for caregiver jobs in Florida, U.S.A., but they said Vinson failed to facilitate their papers, police reports said. Resuma said three more complainants filed estafa charges against Vinson before the City Prosecutor's Office last week and four others are now contemplating to file the same charges against Vinson who is now in the custody of the NBI-Bacolod.*DMG
