14 quintets in aspirant
boys'cage tournament

Fourteen squads will be jousting for the aspirant boys' basketball crown of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association that will kick off Saturday in Bacolod City.

The venue for the tournament has yet to be decided because the NOPSSCEA is still looking for a more affordable site to save on expenses, Ericson Rios, deputy chairman of the NOPSSCEA sports task force, said.

Teams vying for the title are defending champion University of St. La Salle, St. John's Institute, Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, Bacolod Christian Education Center School, Living Heritage Christian Academy, St. Benilde School and St. Augustine-International School.

Also aiming for the crown are University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Bacolod, St. Joseph's School-La Salle, Bacolod Tay Tung High School, UNO-R Talisay, Mansilingan Christian Academy, St. Rose of Lima School and West Negros College.

The elementary boys' basketball, aspirants boys' football and aspirants boys and girls' volleyball hostilities will also begin on Saturday in various venues.

The 10-Under boys and girls' event will start on Jan. 28. *CIT
