Bacolod National Bureau of Investigation Chief Philip Pecache
yesterday said he is congratulating the Bago police for arresting
a man posing as an NBI agent Sunday.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Hermigildo Octaviano,
a team of policemen led by Supt. Alex Belonio swooped down on a
farm house occupied by alleged ISAFP agent Ricky Murillo in Purok
Tadtad, Brgy. Balingasag, Bago City.
Belonio said the raid yielded a .45 caliber Colt pistol with
five magazines containing 37 live bullets, a .357 magnum revolver
with one bullet and empty shell, and a .38 caliber revolver with
five bullets and 11 empty shells.
It also led to the arrest of Murillo who claimed to be an
agent of the National Bureau of Investigation, and his two companions
identified as Jojo Tanda, 24, and his elder brother, Wilfredo, 29.
We have asked the NBI headquarters to send us a certification
of the status of Murillo, Pecache said.
Once we have received the certification from the head office
that he is not an agent of the NBI, we will file charges of usurpation
of authority against Murillo, he said.
As far as I know he is not an NBI agent, Pecache said.
Meanwhile, Pecache said he is calling on anyone who has information
on members of the "bonnet gang" and an alleged member of the group
whose cartographic sketch was recently released, to call the NBI
hotline at 09163979532.*CPG
