The Bacolod City Water District will conduct an investigation
on the diversion of water at the Boro-Boro Springs in Brgy. Alangilan,
Bacolod City that resulted to a loss of P261,621 to the water district.
Baciwa assistant general manager Juliana Carbon yesterday said
Baciwa lost 10,296 cubic meters of water for the six days that its
personnel were prevented from entering the property to inspect the
Boro-Boro Spring after the water district received reports on Jan.
8 that Spring No. 2 was sabotaged and its water diverted. She said
the losses amount to P261,621.
The Baciwa personnel were only able to enter the property
Friday after the Regional Trial Court granted the temporary restraining
order the firm had sought against Edmundo Sausi and children, owners
of the property.
A hearing on the application for issuance of a writ of preliminary
injunction filed by Baciwa against the respondents has been set
by the court on Thursday.
Baciwa assistant manager for operations Samuel Penado yesterday
said that a memorandum has been issued last week to Abner Sausi,
spring tender of Baciwa, two engineers and a division manager, asking
them to explain the diversion of the water from the spring. He said
their explanation will be used by Baciwa's legal counsel as basis
for the investigation.
Penado said Abner Sausi, who filed for leave on Jan. 2, was
issued a recall order and asked to explain why he went on leave.
Abner took the place of his father Edmundo Sausi as spring
tender of the Boro-Boro Spring after the latter retired from Baciwa.
Meanwhile, Penado said that after the TRO was issued by the
court, they were able to enter the property Friday and discovered
that the valves of the two discharge lines connecting the spring
intake box to the main line was closed.
This caused water to overflow from the spring intake box that
supplies water to the Baciwa reservoir in San Dionisio, Brgy. Granada,
