Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Pedro Merced, yesterday
released the cartographic sketch of one of three persons who allegedly
held up a cashier and driver of the Sargaso Construction and Development
Corp. at Burgos Street, Brgy. 18, Bacolod City, Thursday.
Merced said Renato Deramon Estrella, 45, single, of Purok
Maanyag, Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City, driver of the Nissan pick-up
of the firm was able to provide information for the sketch of the
man who poked him with a gun during the hold up. The unidentified
suspect is between 30 to 35 years old, of medium built and has brown
complexion. He stands 5 feet and 6 inches tall and weighs about
135 pounds, Merced said.
The suspect also speaks Ilonggo. He was wearing a gray
sweatshirt and was armed with a gun at the time of the incident,
Merced added. On Thursday, cashier Marietta Pillone Labis, 51, married,
of Purok Kabuhi, Brgy. 10, reported to Police Precinct 2 that she
withdrew P114,00 in cash from the Land Bank of the Philippines and
along with Estrella was on the way to their office when the incident
occurred, the police report said.
The hold-uppers took Labis' bag with P114,000 in cash intended
for the salaries of the firm's employees, her own money of P10,500
in cash and other personal belongings. Estrella also lost his Nokia
3350 cellphone and P5,700 in cash, the police report said.
Bystanders told the police that three persons on a motorcycle
arrived at Burgos-Lacson streets ahead of Estrella and Labis, which
is now being validated by the police, Merced said.
He said the cartographic sketch will also be posted in conspicuous
areas in Bacolod City adding that the arrest of the person in the
sketch will lead to the identities of his companions.*DMG
