Rob charges filed
against Japanese

The National Bureau of Investigation has filed a complaint against a Japanese national for alleged robbery before the Bacolod City Prosecutor's Office, NBI Bacolod chief Philip Pecache said yesterday.

Named in the complaint was Yamanaka Akiyushi, alias Medi.

Investigation showed that at about 2 p.m. of Jan. 7, Yamanaka Akiyushi of Marina Prawn Farms, Brgy. Lantad, Silay City, approached complainant Grace Magarang at her store located along Lacson Street, Mandalagan, Bacolod City, Pecache said in the complaint.

Akiyushi allegedly complained that the DVDs he bought from Magarang were defective and demanded the return of the money he allegedly paid, Pecache added.

But Magarang refused, considering that the discs Akiyushi returned were not bought from her store, Pecache said.

She, however, allowed Akiyushi to choose three discs in exchange of the alleged defective ones. But the latter allegedly flared up and assaulted the complainant by spitting on her face and inflicting a wound on her forehead, Pecache added.

Before leaving the place, the Japanese allegedly opened the complainant's drawer and took all the money in it, amounting to P800, and took an undetermined number of DVDs, Pecache said in the complaint.*
