A debut
Carissa Yanson Dumancas, eldest daughter of Charles and Ginnette
Yanson Dumancas, celebrated her 18th birthday at the Island Ballroom
of Bacolod Convention Plaza Hotel, recently.
Almost all the visitors were dressed to the nines while the hotel
décors complemented the December celebration.
Twelve hobbits welcomed everyone who went up the winding stairs,
beside the mini hall. Usherettes greeted the well-wishers, and guided
them to their designated seats.
The lovely debutante appeared on stage with her parents in a Rajo
Laurel gown, and later, that by Lourdes Lipa. They proceeded to
the Gazebo to watch the surprise dance numbers, including the Festival
dance, Sword dance and the tambourine dance performed by the hobbits.
With Carissa on her seat, a presentation was performed by the
eighteen roses -- the eighteen special people in her life. Dear
daddy, and later, the eighteen guys, danced with the debutante.
Youngest brother Carlo, was unaware that everybody was enjoying
his every move when he danced, sang, and silently sat at the lap
of Manang Carissa.
The celebrator is a freshman at U.S.T. taking up Medical Technology
as her pre-Med course. She is currently ranked No. 2 in her class.
She plans to go abroad to pursue her studies in Medicine.
She is a lady with a simple life, quiet and loves to read books.
In lieu of a gift, Carissa and her family requested that a donation
to the Bahay Pag-asa or the St. Scholastica's Bacolod Alumnae Foundation
be made.
Grand dad Ric Yanson was first to give a special message to precious
granddaughter followed by Wawa Luv, then Dad and Mom.
The debutante with her dad opened the dance floor with the K.C.B.
band providing the music.
Everybody celebrated with cheers, colors and merriment the night
of dear Carissa.*
Remember: "God's miracles are all around, within our sight and
touch and sound."
