Verdict on Tajanlangit
not final -- Leonardia

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said it is still premature at this time to issue a verdict on the legality of the appointment of Mario Tajanlangit as Bacolod City College administrator as there is still no final decision on his case.

However, he said he fully respects the stand of the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod members on Tajanlangit's appointment.

The SP passed the P675 million Annual Budget on Dec. 28, 2005 with 18 colatillas or conditions which include the exclusion of the name of Tajanlangit from the personnel listing in the 2006 Budget for lack of concurrence of the SP.

The decision of the Civil Service Commission regional office which upheld an earlier decision of the CSC Negros Occidental field office on the case of Tajanlangit has been sustained by the CSC central office.

The CSC regional office had earlier dismissed the appeal of Leonardia on the decision of the CSC NOFO invalidating the appointment of Tajanlangit for lack of concurrence by the SP.

Leonardia said he has instructed City Legal Officer Allan Zamora to file a motion for reconsideration with the CSC central office.

In his letter to the Vice Mayor and SP dated Jan. 12, Leonardia said whatever may be the final verdict on such issue, he thanks them for the passage of the 2006 General Fund Budget of the City.*CGS
