The College of Education is aiming for its third straight cheering
title shortly after the 9 a.m. opening of the University of St.
La Salle Sportsfest 2006 at the USLS Coliseum in Bacolod City today.
Six colleges will be vying for the titles in 19 disciplines
with athletes from the College of Business and Accountancy eyeing
for their fourth consecutive overall championship.
Aside from the Education players, CBA will also be challenged
by athletes from the College of Engineering, College of Nursing,
College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Law and Medicine.
This year's theme is "Game rule no. 1, be your greatest competition,"
Aubrey Trayco, Undersecretary of the USLS Student Government Sports
Affair Department, said.
The colleges will be eyeing crowns in the men and women's
divisions of athletics, basketball, chess, lawn tennis, swimming,
table tennis, beach and indoor volleyball, badminton, billiards,
dancesports, othello, tug-of-war, wall handball, bowling, men's
football, women's 7-a-side and cheerdance competitions.
The cheerdance will be included in the point system for the overall
crown after being introduced last year, Trayco said. *CIT
