Oriental Negros-born long jumper Maristella Torres, who won the country's first gold in the SEA Games will also be accorded a major award.

PSDO to present
proposed budget

The Negros Occidental Provincial Sports and Development Office will present its 2006 budget proposal to the Provincial Government for its mass-based sports program at the Mambukal Resort in Murcia today.

The P60,000 budget proposal will be presented by Manuel De Oro, officer-in-charge of the PSDO, as all Provincial Government officials will have a meeting at the resort.

The P60,000 allocation will be used to fund the provincial mass-based sports program of the PSDO that includes swimming, athletics and boxing, De Oro said. De Oro is also pushing for the inclusion of taekwondo and table tennis in this year's grassroots project that would also mean a higher budget proposal for the program.
