Businessman William Dy of Roxas Avenue, Barangay 39, Bacolod,
yesterday furnished the DAILY STAR a copy of the police blotter
he filed before Bacolod Police Precinct 8 on Jan. 11 stating that
the press statement of Victorias Milling Co. that was reported in
the Visayan DAILY STAR on Jan. 7 resulted in "too much shame and
discredit" on his part.
Dy said the report that Victorias Milling Co. had filed a complaint
against him for the alleged illegal withdrawal of sugar amounting
to P750,000 from Victorias Milling Co. is "baseless and malicious."
The report was based on a press statement sent to the DAILY
STAR on Jan. 6, by VMC, that said it had filed a criminal case for
estafa against William Dy, also known as Wilson Dy, of Bacolod City.
The VMC statement also said the case "stemmed from the unauthorized
loading and withdrawal of the above-named person of no less than
500 bags of refined sugar owned by VMC on or about 7 p.m. of Dec.
19, 2005, from the latter's refined sugar warehouse in Victorias
City."
The VMC legal counsel said their complaint was filed before
the Victorias City Prosecutor's Office on Dec. 22, 2005, and furnished
the STAR a copy of an affidavit that accompanied it.
Wilson Dy, 26, of Bacolod had also filed earlier a blotter report
with the Victorias police stating that he is not the person named
in the VMC complaint.*CPG
