Reinstate CDC chief,
reservists asks Army

The Oriental Negros Army Reserve Officers Training Corps Instructors Association will request the Philippine Army Reserve Command chief for the reinstatement of the Community Defense Center commanding officer in the province.

Lt. Col. Acelo Mejia, commanding officer of the 703rd CDC, based in Camp Leon Kilat, Tanjay City, Oriental Negros, had been barely four months in the post when he was relieved, the ONARIA said.

The request was made through Gov. George Arnaiz, himself an Army reservist with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Mejia has been trying his best to implement the reservists' welfare and the ROTC programs, ONARIA claimed.

Arnaiz said he will write to Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Cayton, the commanding general of the reservists, stating the request of the group. He also said he will seek clarification on the relief of Mejia, noting that army and police commanders have a maximum of three-year tour of duty.*RA
