Employees of province, city
assured of 8 % pay hike but

The eight percent salary increase of the more than 1,600 employees of the Oriental Negros government will be implemented this year once Malacaņang gives the go-signal, the Human Resource Office of the Capitol said.

The province has about P20 million for the pay hike but the Department of Budget and Management has yet to issue guidelines for it, Daisy Vamenta, human resource officer, said.

Meanwhile, Dumaguete City Mayor Agustin Perdices has said that the salaries of City Hall officials and employees will also be increased. He said the P6.5 million needed for the salary adjustment was included in the P247 million budget of the city this year.

But Perdices said the city will also wait for the DBM guidelines for the increase.*RA
