3 mayors on sick leave
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Three Negros Occidental mayors are on sick leave, Gov. Joseph Maraņon said yesterday.

Francisco Bilbao of Hinobaan, Santiago Barcelona of Escalante City and Anthony Lizares of Talisay City are not reporting to work these days.

Bilbao told the DAILY STAR last night he is undergoing radiation treatment at the St. Luke's Hospital in Manila for a lump in his lungs.

He said he will return to work as mayor of Hinobaan in mid February. Barcelona said he was hospitalized for a slight heart problem and will be back to work probably next week.

An aide of Lizares said the mayor was exhausted after the holidays and was hospitalized to get some rest. No specifics were given on his ailment.*CPG
