Alleged mastermind in
GRO's slay named

The Bacolod police yesterday elevated the case of an 18-year-old guest relations officer who was stabbed dead near a motel in Bacolod City on Dec. 19 last year, against the five suspects, and the alleged "mastermind", from frustrated murder to murder before the City Prosecutor's Office.

Case investigator PO2 Ronie Benitua of Police Precinct 8 yesterday told the DAILY STAR in a phone interview, that murder charges had been filed against Helen Aguadilla, the alleged mastermind, two 17-year-old boys, Mark Enriquez, 19, and Roming Calalang, alias Kumpol", all of Bacolod City.

On Dec. 19, Irene Dela Peņa, a guest relations officer of the Sunrise Disco Bar at the Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Bacolod, was stabbed by a 17-year-old boy with a stainless steel knife near a motel in Brgy. Alijis in the city.

Dela Peņa, who had a-year-and-a-half-year-old-son, died two weeks and three days after she was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital with a stab wound in her breast, police reports said.

The Bacolod police are eyeing jealousy as the motive for the killing and witnesses have tagged Aguadilla as the alleged mastermind, Benitua said.

Meanwhile, Aguadilla, who manages the H.A. Money Changer at Araneta Street, told the DAILY STAR yesterday that she will seek assistance from her legal counsel because she was being treated unfairly and being put under trial by publicity.

She denied the allegation against her and calls it "fabricated."*DMG
