for Bata killings

BY DONALYN GUERRERO

The Bacolod police is still on a manhunt operation for the three other suspects in the killing of an architect and an engineer in Purok Medayna, Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City, Monday last week.

Bacolod City police director Senior Supt. Pedro Merced yesterday, said they are 100 percent sure the four suspects already arrested in follow-up operations had participated in the brutal killing of Farmelo Arevalo and Gliserio Yude in Brgy. Bata.

Arevalo, an engineer, who was set to go back to Dubai Sunday, was buried at Rose Lawns Memorial Park while Yude, an architect from Brgy. Taculing, was buried at the Sacred Heart Memorial Park last week.

On Sunday, Reynaldo Lobaton Vergara, 19, of Purok Marapara 1, Brgy. Bata in Bacolod City and the fourth suspect in the killings surrendered to the Canla-on PNP. He was later endorsed to the Bacolod PNP, Merced said.

Double murder charges were filed before the City Prosecutor's Office Friday against Vergara, Isagani Guinson, 21 and two 15-year-old boys. They are now in the custody of Police Precinct 3, he added.

Merced said Chief Insp. Jimmy Fortaleza, Police Precinct 3 station commander has lead information on the whereabouts and identities of the three other suspects.*DMG
