Hubby questions
death of OFW

The death in Singapore of an Overseas Filipino Worker from Bacolod City is being questioned by her husband.

Fernando Alipato of Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City said in an interview over ABS CBN that he could not believe the medical certificate showing that his wife, Rosita died of acute leukemia.

He said Rosita has been working in Singapore for 15 years as a domestic helper and that the last time they had talked was on Dec. 25. She never mentioned anything about her health then, he said.

Alpato said he could not believe that his wife had leukemia since she is made to undergo physical check up every three months. He said that during their telephone conversation last Christmas, Rosita told him that she is already tired but did not say she is quitting her job nor did she mention that she was sick.

He said he was only informed by a neighbor, who also works as a domestic helper in Singapore, that Rosita was taken to the hospital on January 1. She died the next day and her body was flown back to Bacolod Wednesday afternoon, he said.

Alipato said he and Rosita have three children who are all in their teens.*CGS
