Two nabbed for
stealing motorcycles

A case of who will watch the watchers.

Thanks to the workers of a vulcanizing shop in Brgy. Daro Dumaguete City, police arrested Monday night two parking attendants who stole a motorcycle parked outside Kapamilya Lodge along Real Street, in the city.

Police identified the suspects as Jimmy Bahandi, 27, single, of Brgy. Taclobo, and Ivan (real name withheld), 16, of Brgy. Basiao in San Jose, Oriental Negros.

Investigators said that, before their arrest, the two suspects went to the Emilio Gamboa Vulcanizing Shop in Villa Amada, Daro at about 8:45 p.m. Monday, to have a motorcycle vulcanized.

Workers Jobert Turno and Roland Larian told the police that while they were attending to the motorcycle, they heard the suspects discuss their activities of stealing motorcycles.

Suspecting that the two "clients" were on to something illegal, one of the workers called the police, resulting in the arrest of Bahandi and Ivan.

Both admitted stealing the motorcycle, a Lifan 125 cc owned by Norman Dale Gargar of Agan-an, Sibulan town.

Gargar said he parked his Lifan 125 cc motorcycle at about 4 p.m. Sunday, but when he checked on it the next day, it was already gone.*RG
