Negros officials plan Panaad

Gov. Joseph Maraņon yesterday met with the Negros Occidental Board Members to discuss plans for beefing up the staging of the annual Panaad sa Negros Festival in April.

Maraņon has designated the board members to coordinate with the mayors of the towns and district under the districts they represent to ensure the success of the Panaad.

The board members have been tasked to ensure the quality of contestants participating in the Lin-ay sg Negros tilt and the quality of products displayed in the booths that should be manned by knowledgeable persons who can provide information about their towns and cities, Maraņon said.

He also asked the board members to come up with new ideas for the celebration of the Panaad Festival so it can attract more people to visit the festival to be held at the Panaad Park in Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco is the chairman of the festival.*
