Bonnet gang strikes anew

Bacolod City police director, Supt. Pedro Merced, yesterday warned, the public, especially women, to be more careful after a female college student complained that she was abducted by at least six unidentified persons, five of them wearing bonnets, in Brgy. Mandalagan at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Merced said the complainant, a minor, told the police she was standing in front of the Robinson's Mall in Brgy. Mandalagan in Bacolod City Tuesday afternoon when unidentified persons dragged her inside a white L-300 van.

She said the suspects blindfolded her and drove her around the city in the van, there they also molested and raped her, she added.

She claimed that the suspects took her back and released her in front of the same mall four hours later.

Merced said he ordered a dragnet operation after the incident was reported to the police, but it was unsuccessful. He added that he has alerted his men to be more vigilant to pre-empt such crimes.

He also reminded parents to warn their children, especially the girls, not to go out alone, especially at night.*DMG
