Vehicle registration revenues collected by the Land Transportation
Office in Bacolod City in 2005 increased by 14.09 percent to P101.090
million, from only P88.604 million in the previous year, its comparative
quarterly report shows.
Collection was up P12.485 million, and local LTO chief Antonio
Norman Saril said 2005 is a banner year for the agency.
Number of vehicles registered - private, government and for-hire
- also increased. For private vehicles, registration rose from 37,551
units in 2004 to 44,439 in 2005 or an 18.34 percent increase;
Government, from 758 units to 813, equivalent to 3.56 percent
increase; and for-hire, from 6,203 units to 7,008, up by 12.97 percent.
The report also shows that in January last year, LTO-Bacolod
collected P9.261 million in vehicle registrations; February, P9.031
million; March, P9.010 million; April, P8.309 million; May, P9.2
million; June, P8.494 million; July, P8.738 million; August, P9.784
million; September, P12.555 million; October, P11.357 million; November,
P3.230 million; and December, P2.115 million.
Revenues from apprehension in 2005 increased by 27.33 percent
or P958,085, from P3.505 million in 2004 to P4.463 million last
year.
LTO-Bacolod's total monthly collection in 2005 also rose by P14.24
percent, reaching P119.493 million from only P104.597 million the
previous year or a difference of P14.895 million, the report added.*NLG
