Coast Guard secures All ports in the province of Oriental Negros and Siquijor, manned 24 hours by the Philippine Coast Guard based in Dumaguete City for the duration of the yuletide season until January 9, are running smoothly and peacefully. Chief Petty Officer Valeriano Caro, officer-in-charge of the PCG in Oriental Negros, said his station had set up a 24-hour Passenger Assistance Centers in each of the ports in Dumaguete City, Guihulngan, Larena in Siquijor, Sibulan, Tampi and Tandayag in San Jose, and Malatapay in Zamboanguita. Caro said PCG men had been manning the ports to strengthen
security measures, monitor sea vessels leaving or docking daily, answer
passenger queries, and prevent security breaches. |
