LCC-Bacolod to
mark 87th year

The first Catholic school in Negros Occidental, La Consolacion College in Bacolod City, will hold its 87th foundation anniversary on March 11-12, that will be sponsored by its Commerce department, an LCC press release said yesterday.

A Mass will be celebrated by the Augustinian community at the San Sebastian Cathedral on the first day, and an awarding ceremony for some retired personnel and teachers of the school will be held then.

A jobs fair sponsored by the LCC College Alumni Association and assisted by the Public Employment Services Office of the Bacolod City Mayor's Office, will also be conducted by different government and private agencies at the college ground floor.

The highlight on March 12 will be a college alumni homecoming and reunion, and awarding of outstanding alumni, including private entrepreneurs, who have excelled in their profession, the press release said.

LCC-Bacolod was founded on March 12, 1919 by a group of Augustinian Sisters who were invited by the first bishop of the Diocese of Bacolod, Casimiro Lladoc, it also said.

Alumni may inquire from Nenette Padilla or Randie Cuelo of the LCC Alumni Relations Office at 434-9661 or 0915-7829-050, for more details about the activities, the press release added.*
