MJ leads YBAC event

MJ Enterprises scored a 53-46 victory over Ox Builders Wednesday to notch its third win in the Your Basketball Athletic Club tournament at the Manville Royale Gym in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

Mayo Salazar poured in 9 points to lead the offense of MJ that is currently sitting at the top of the cagefest with a 3-1 win-loss card.

In the first game, Crismar Enterprises improved to 2-2 after drubbing Marjesse Enterprises, 70-51.

Marjesse, which dropped to 1-3, was within striking distance after only trailing 27-35 at halftime, but failed to keep in step with the Crismar cagers as they were limited to 4 points in the third quarter and suffer a 31-51 deficit entering the fourth period.

Joffrey Lim canned 15 points to power the scoring attack for Crismar, while Noel Morancil contributed 12 markers. Jake Azucena added 11 points as Jun Luces finished with 10 points, all coming in the final quarter.

Topscoring for Marjesse was Bernie Gantalao with 12 points as Ricky Sotelo chipped in 10 points. Embo Caņete and Oca Dela Rama registered 9 and 8 markers, respectively.

Backstopping MJ's Salazar in the second game were Dodo Garcia and Dods Siopan who picked up 7 and 5 points, respectively.

Anchoring the offense of the Ox Builders squad that dropped to 2-2 was Maui Carreon as he tallied 12 points, while Aleph Esparagoza shot 9 markers. Rene Villacanas and Bong Ibe scored 6 points each. *CIT
