Two jailed for adultery
BY DONALYN GUERRERO

A jeepney driver and his alleged live-in partner landed in jail Wednesday night after the woman's husband charged them with adultery before the Bacolod Women and Children Concern's Desk recently.

Placido Patigas of Escalante City filed the complaint against his wife and the 40-year-old man who were reportedly living together in Purok Gaisano, Brgy. 30, Bacolod City.

Placido's wife yesterday told the DAILY STAR, she does not regret her decision to live with "Panfilo" (not his real name) because she was fed up with her husband's attitude. She claimed he had been spreading rumors that she and "Panfilo" had illicit affair even before she eloped with "Panfilo" who, she claimed, is his close friend in Escalante City.

She said she and Placido had been married for 25 years and have five children aged, 24, 22, 19, 17 and 16. If she is released from jail, she said, she would still prefer to be with "Panfilo" who also left his wife and eight children to be with her, she said.

She said Placido had secretly followed "Panfilo" and discovered their place in Brgy. 30.

"Panfilo" meanwhile, said he and Placido's wife had been together for almost a week and his feelings for her have developed. He also said he has no place to go as his wife has forbidden him to go to their house and see his children.

The "lovers" are now detained separately in the lock-up cells of Police Precinct 6.*DMG
