The country's raw sugar production slightly decreased by 3.71
percent, from 1,279,706 metric tons in the previous crop year to
1,232,281 Mts in crop year 2004-2005.
The data was based on raw sugar production highlights as of
week ending Feb. 12, 2006, Sugar Board member Rafael Golez said.
This was disclosed as prices of "B" or raw sugar reached
above P1,300 per Lkg. yesterday.
Bidding results from UNIFED show that AHSSI sold its "A" sugar
at 1,165.90 per Lkg., "B," at 1,325.74 per Lkg; and molasses, P6,285
while Kabilog, "B," P1,306.98 and molasses, P6,165.50.

Association, said that prevailing prices at BISCOM during the bidding
yesterday is at least P20 higher than last week's prices.
PRODUCTION BREAKDOWN
In crop year 2004-2005, raw sugar production in Luzon totaled
152,712 Mts, down by 10.02 percent from 169,726 Mts last year; Panay,
81,274 Mts, down by 6.21 percent from 86,653 Mts; Negros, 775,242
Mts, up by 1.61 percent from 762,954 Mts; Central and Eastern Visayas,
44,827 Mts, down 11.15 percent from 50,453 Mts; and Mindanao, 178,226
Mts, down 15.10 percent from 209,920 Mts.
Peak of production is March, 672,433 Mts while in April, 622,433
Mts; May, 495,766 Mts; June, 299,981 Mts; July, 162,765 Mts; and
August, 52,523 Mts.*NLG
