Bacolod City College administrator Mario Tajanlangit yesterday
denied the accusations of four teachers that he was allegedly having
an illicit relationship with a member of his staff.
Tajanlangit said their allegations are rehashed issues that
have been already answered. He also said the complaint is being
heard by the Board of Trustees and will wait for its judgement.
He said that when one is performing his job very well, one
cannot expect to satisfy everybody. Statistically, the four complainants
are not representative of the 103 faculty members of the BCC, he
said.
"I do not know their motives, but by the time the BOT renders
its decision, you will know their quality as teachers," Tajanlangit
said. He said he makes decisions based on objective assessment of
their performance and the records will bear him out. There may be
some among them who are affected, and this led to their filing of
a complaint against me, he added.
Tajanlangit said there are people who can not hit you for
your performance, and will hit you through dirty strategies.
He said he is asking the students to focus on their studies
because as long as he is around, he is guided by the strategic plan
which aims to make BCC graduates globally competitive. That is why
we do not accept teachers who have grades below the 85 percent average,
he said.
Meanwhile, Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the complaint has
already been taken up in the BOT meetings and Tajanlangit has submitted
his answer. The complainants have also been asked to formalize their
complaints, and Tajanlangit said he is entertaining the idea of
filing libel charges against them.*CGS
