PRC releasing WNC exam results
but dean, students may face raps
BY
CARLA GOMEZ

The Professional Regulation Commission yesterday finally agreed to release the December nursing board examination results of all 599 West Negros College examinees not later than March 2.

However, the release will be without prejudice to the PRC's filing of charges against the examinees and the WNC College of Nursing dean, Zenaida Hilado, PRC chairperson Leonor Rosero and Board of Nursing chairperson Eufemia Octaviano said.

Hilado last night said she was told that PRC Regional Director Lily Ann Baldago had said over the radio that charges would be filed against her and her nursing license could be revoked, but she did not know what grounds the PRC would cite. moremoremore

Gloria plans Bacolod visit
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is expected to arrive in Bacolod City on March 3, Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said yesterday.

Leonardia said he was informed of the President's visit by Rey Roquero, Undersecretary of the Office of the Political Affairs, who, however, said they do not have the details yet. "I understand that her visit has something to do with the Charter Change advocacy program so people can be aware of the issues and so the government would know the stand or pulse of the people on Cha-Cha," he said.

Meanwhile, Leonardia said the P1,000 additional allowance approved by the House of Representatives last week is not yet certain. He said the mayors took up the matter in the Mayor's League and there seems to be some problems with it. moremoremore

'Don't take
advantage of disaster'

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia is asking the public to bring their donations for the survivors and residents of the massive landslide in St. Bernard town, Southern Leyte, directly to the Office of the Sectoral Concerns at the Bacolod Plaza.

At the same time, he warned the public from giving their donations just to any person or group who approach them and take advantage of the situation.

Leonardia said he has tasked the OSC to lead Task Force St. Bernard created by the city to campaign for assistance since there are many groups and establishments trying to raise funds to help the residents of the devastated village. moremoremore
