The Cadiz City government has partnered with the Yanson-owned
Dynamic Builders and Construction Co., (Philippines) Inc. to develop
the Cadiz City Economic Center over a period of three years.
The parties sealed the partnership with the signing of a Joint
Venture Agreement Monday between Mayor Salvador Escalante and Dynamic
Builders president Ricardo Yanson Jr.
Under the agreement, the construction company, without cost
from the city government, will develop a 36-hectare land in the
reclamation site into a commercial and industrial area.
The reclamation area in Brgy. Tinampaan, now occupied by several
squatter families, is located along the road going to the port that
is also being developed by the city government.
Data provided by the City Information Office show that the
economic center development project includes the construction and
installation of basic facilities and amenities such as roads, sidewalks,
drainage system, water supply facilities, fire hydrants, electric
power facilities, street lightings, street signs, garbage receptacle
bins, public toilets, artistic landmarks, and boardwalk facility.
Escalante said that he was given full authority by the Sangguniang
Panlungsod, through SP Resolution No. 2006-30 to publish an Invitation
to Submit Proposal to a joint venture agreement on October 15 and
22 last year.
Five companies responded, four coming from Manila, but they
chose Dynamic Builders because it has the best offer, he said.
A general construction company, Dynamic Builders is the only
Triple A engineering company.
It has constructed several projects in Bacolod City and Negros
Occidental, including the civil works of the airport of international
standards in Silay City.
Yanson, a son of Ricardo Yanson Sr., owner of Vallacar Transit,
the operator of Ceres bus, said he hopes his company's partnership
with Cadiz City will be a showcase for both the city government
and the province.*NLG
